Standards
Eternit fibre cement profiled sheeting is manufactured in
accordance with a quality system registered under
BS EN ISO 9002 and to the European BS EN 494 product
specification for Class 1X sheets. We are presently undergoing assessment
to include BS EN ISO 14001.
Manufacture
Eternit profiled
sheeting is manufactured from Portland cement and water, reinforced with
natural and synthetic fibres.
Colours
General Eternit Profile 6R is
available in Natural Grey, Farmscape and painted finishes.
There may be shade differences between batches of Natural
Grey sheets, depending on the cement type used in manufacture.
Surface appearance
Sheets may
show rippling of the weather face and fissuring to the underside. This is
normal and does not impair performance.
Farmscape The
Farmscape finish has been developed to provide an economical coloured
sheet, with a matt finish that avoids the shiny appearance of new painted
sheets. There are three colours available, Anthracite (grey), Serpentine
(green) and Jasper (brown). Together with the subtle variations in tone
inherent in any cementitious material, these products will blend in with
almost any landscape from the day the building is erected.
Please note that there are three sheet
sizes and a limited range of accessories available in the Farmscape
finish.
The Eternit standard colour
range Experience gained over many years has
shown that the standard Eternit colour range will meet the majority of
design requirements in both rural and urban areas.
All the standard colours have been chosen
for their ability to harmonise with the most commonly used building
materials brick, slate, stone, concrete and timber, and they are
illustrated in the Eternit colour range literature.
Painted sheets are available in a
standard range of 4 colours: Blue BS 18 B 29, Brown BS 08 B 29, Laurel
Green BS 12 B 29, Gunmetal Grey BS 18 B 25.
Extended Colour Range Whilst the standard colour range will meet the majority of
the designer’s colour requirements, there are some building applications
that require a more individual colour choice. In order to satisfy this
demand Eternit has developed the Extended Colour Range.
This allows architects, designers and
planners to choose from 33 colours or almost any British Standard colour*
and, subject to technical approval from Eternit, we will provide the
closest possible colour match.
The result is a colour range which offers
a high level of flexibility for profiled sheeting products. For further
details of the colour range, please contact your nearest Eternit Sales
Office.
The extended colour range is subject to a minimum order
quantity of 250 m2.
Note
The type of paint used with fibre cement products is
vitally important. Eternit profiled sheets are painted using a water-based
acrylic paint. This allows the sheets to remain vapour permeable.
